South African born and raised artist, Tshepo Nobela (10 May 1998) is nothing less than the future of the new generation. He is widely known for the versatile sound ranging from Afro-pop to R&B and modern Hip-Hop.
After discovering his interest in music at the age of 12 while composing beats on his father’s laptop and recording songs by himself in his bedroom for well over 5 years, he independently released his debut EP titled ‘@Gustavo’ in 2017 which marked the beginning of his journey as a fully dedicated musician. This was followed by another independently released EP titled ‘@PHotomatic’ in 2019, introducing a completely different and more established melodic sound featuring live instrumentation and very personal lyrics dedicated to his loved ones and close friends, along with other single releases and collaboration with other musicians which were handed over to Social Records post to signing with the label.
The projects were well received that he had to follow up with his first ever afro-pop studio project titled ‘@Please and Thank You’ in 2022 which was his debut release under his record label. In this project, Tirus taps into his African roots rather than the western sounding music he was commonly known for. This proved to be the best decision for him as it allowed him to be rather personal and intimate with the message in his music, giving him a delivery with more impact on his audience and levelling him up to greater heights.
