TJ Campbell

TJ Campbell, raised in Ottawa ON started his musical journey at the age of 9 and picked up the clarinet 3 years later studying classical music. Around that time is when TJ started composing for the first time, and there was instantly a spark. A few years later when he was 15 he picked up the tenor saxophone in high school and quickly switched to alto saxophone which took him all the way to Toronto to study at Humber after being heavily influenced by Maceo Parker and Tower of Power for funk, and Cannonball Adderley for jazz. After studying diligently at Humber college he got his bachelors in music and is now performing with his band TJ & The Crew.

TJ & The Crew is a Toronto based, 10-piece funk band here to emulate and evolve the sounds of Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire and more. Playing original compositions written by their band leader TJ Campbell. The band tends to focus 50% instrumental music and 50% vocal music branching from covers and arrangements of your favorite R&B, Funk and Soul classics and original compositions. The band members are TJ Campbell (Alto Sax), Rashad Walters (Vocals), Andrew Svendson (Trumpet), Riley Maguire (Tenor Sax), Dain Carandang (Bari Sax), Mikael Johansson (Trombone), Ross Morgan (Guitar), Peter Holbrook (Keys), Devon Goping (Bass) and Zach Lewinson (Drums).
