TJ Noko (formerly Prince TJ) whose real name is Thabiso Justin Noko is a Zimbabwe-British rapper, writer, singer and producer from West Yorkshire. He is known for his laid-back delivery, his clever use of words and the ability to make songs which most people can relate to.
Noko began rapping in 2020 at twelve years old under the name "TJ", shortly before switching to "Prince TJ." It wasn't until 2023, when he began to take music more seriously after gaining some attention for songs such as "Lowkey" and "bossy.” featuring his good friend TM. This attention led to the release of more songs which became favourites such as “No Hook”, “Bossy, Pt. 2”, “Y.I.C.” and “High Interests.” In 2024, TJ began to find his feet in a style different to what he had previously done; a style more based around melodies and afroswing. This was following the release of Strings (YoYo) featuring fellow Leeds artist SIL-VAH . This was a shift in sound that led to him dropping Sincerely, Yours Truly this summer which was a mixtape full of that melodic sound. At the beginning of this year, TJ chose to use his surname to identify himself as an artist; this put an end to a longstanding era. TJ has gone on to perform at the U18’s event in Leeds on Cozy Brand’s Gang Members Only II tour as well as being played numerous times on BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio Leeds, even becoming a Fresh Face.
Noko is currently working on another project set to drop in 2026.
