T.Kabilan started his career as a french tamil independent artist in 2013. He has been playing music since he was a child in Sevran, France. He was born in Paris, France and enthralled by the old tamil songs from M.S Viswanathan to Ilayaraja.
Kabilan started writing lyrics and studying music during middle school (bass guitar & piano).
Summer 2013 was a big change in his career. He started to work on a serious project which was to build a new label called T.Y.K Records. His cousins Aravinth & Asewine gave him a lot of support on this project. In June 2013, he started to write the song Mayakiya Penne with his team and decided to publish it on Youtube on the 16th July 2013. It wasn’t a hit but they didn’t give up. After that they did 2 songs which gave them a big opportunity. One day, Kabilan received a call from @Ruku, artist and classmate of Aravinth, he said that @Kajay wants to work with them for a new project. TYK Records didn’t know that it'll be a big starting point for their music journey.
