Tobias Wonderdog

The next installment from Australian singer songwriter Mat Weaven aka Tobias Wonderdog, is a unique four part single series called the ‘Death Of Intimate Listening’. The project includes some inspiring Australian feature artists in a fusion of genres. Though some have best described Mat’s unique songwriting as mind bending rock.

He began his musical journey as a Trumpet player and his love affair for Midnight Oil as a kid drove him to guitar and songwriting. His first project ‘3rd Person’ made a demo EP and held a sold out show in Melbourne’s south east.

Soon after he formed ‘Upstream’ in 2004, an upbeat, energetic rock four piece that performed over 200 shows and supported the likes of ‘The ‘Screaming Jets’, ‘Airbourne’ and ‘Karnivool’.

The title ‘Tobias Wonderdog’ was born to pay tribute to his loyal companion’Toby’. A miniature fox - terrier Jack Russel who lived for 24 years.

'Death Of Intimate Listening’ points to our inability to listen on a deeper level in an age of distraction and anxiety.
