Pianist, composer and arranger Tom Oren (27), is the celebrated winner of the 2018 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Piano Competition (currently the Herbie Hancock Institute).
As part of the prize, Tom recorded and released his Debut Album, 'Dorly's Song' (2020), under the historic label of Concord Jazz. Jeff Tamarkin of JazzTimes Magazine, in his review, described the record as "an impressive debut".
Tom has appeared on world-class stages, including a piano solo set at the mythological Newport Jazz Festival.
Recently, he wrote and performed his original music for 'Image of Victory' (2021), a feature film by internationally acclaimed Israeli filmmaker Avi Nesher. The movie earned Tom a nomination to an Isreali Academy Award in the category of Best Original Music.
