Tommie King

Hailing from the musical hotbed of East Atlanta, Tommie King grew up in the “Zone 6” area of town, an area noted for its high rate of crime and gang activity. And while Tommie was not immune to some of Zone 6’s hardcore culture, he also found multiple points of inspiration in this urban wonderland, taking up writing his own music at the age of nine while starting to record his own material at eleven.

“I had two speakers and a line-in mic recorder I'd set up on a chair,” shares Tommie of his early recording days. “I’d have the speakers about three to five feet behind me and facing the mic and had to record the whole song in one take. Every time I messed up I'd have to start over but I just had to hear it finished. That’s really how I got started”

After meeting a friend who encouraged him to write music internationally Tommie was flown to Philippines and fell in love with the culture, staying for multiple years before setting foot in the music scene as a solo act. Tommie originally was signed under DefJam Philippines/UMG Philippines via DefJam SouthEast Asia. After being nominated for 2 Awit awards & recently having collaborated with well known acts such as YuriDope, Because & SupaFly, Sica & he is now an artist under Greenhouse Records. Most recently coming off a successful release with “213” Tommie is looking forward to continuing to make a name in 2025.
