Tommy Zen is a UK hip hop emcee and award-winning producer from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, with a journey spanning the Channel Islands, South Africa, and London’s music scene.
He began in Guernsey as a young DJ before joining Asylum Seekas, where he developed his skills as a lyricist and producer. The group played major local festivals like Guernsey Live and The Vale Earth Fair, later winning a rap competition that took them to Hip Hop Kemp in the Czech Republic—one of Europe’s top hip hop festivals.
A formative chapter in Cape Town saw Tommy study music production from the ground up, leading him to complete advanced training at Point Blank Music College in London. His dedication earned recognition from BBC Introducing, who invited him to Abbey Road Studios for an exclusive masterclass. He went on to collaborate with UK hip hop legend Klashnekoff on the track “Walking With Beasts.”
His music has been featured on BBC Radio York and BBC Radio Guernsey, praised for its dark, infectious, and distinctive sound.
In recent years, Tommy has expanded into creating music for zen meditation, deep relaxation, and restorative sleep. A lifelong meditator—sometimes practicing up to 18 hours a day—he now channels that discipline into soundscapes designed to calm, heal, and guide listeners into deep peace. This work marks a new chapter where his art not only entertains but also restores well-being.
