Tonatiuh is a Mexican arranger/composer. In 2011, he concluded his Bachelor in Jazz and Afro-Caribbean Music at the Conservatorio of Puerto Rico. In 2015, he finished his Master’s Degree in Jazz Arranging and Composition at William Paterson University (NJ), under the mentoring of Pete McGuinness and Jim McNeely, he also received the 2014 - 2015 “Music Scholar Graduate Award”. Since 2016, he is a full time professor at the Centro de Estudios de Jazz of the Universidad Veracruzana. He has two albums NinYolkokol (2012) and The Jazz Orchestra (2019) and two books: Manual de Armonia Moderna (2015) and Escala Pentatonica (2017).
