Tori Fixx

Considered to be one of the godfathers of LGBTQ hip-hop, Tori Fixx is truly a force to be reckoned with. DJ, producer, artist, the man wears many hats and possesses double the amount of production credits as he has solo releases. Add his work under various aliases and the catalogue of T. Fixx grows even larger. T. Fixx the artist, however, plays big brother, mentor, spiritual guide with life stories from the perspective of a GBM. Sometimes tender, other times crass, Fixx delivers open and honest songs that play with various musical genres. Not many people are aware that T. Fixx helped kicked the door in for LGBTQ hip-hop scene. Yes, well before the Lil' Nas X's and Todrick Halls, hell before my space there were a few soldiers simply trying to find their place in this world and world of music. Just trying to create art that they wished to have had as children and one of these soldiers was "T. Fixx in the mix."

Fixx has had a hand in a few film scores such as Maurice Jamal's The Ski Trip and the NAACP nominated Dirty Laundry, but it was the film Pick Up the Mic that captures the lives of artists like T. Fixx on/off tour. Fixx had a hand in the soundtrack and produced a majority of the artists in the film (at one point or another). This is all just the beginning of the T. Fixx legacy.
