Tovarish Astronom is a a group of careless and DIY-minded enthusiasts from Tallinn, Estonia exploring their inner and outer space since 2015. Its roots were found within the walls of "Polymer", a former toy factory currently occupied by artists from all the world. Drawing inspiration from various eras but mostly from 1980-1990s songs, the sound of the band's airy melodies ranges from simplistic acoustic indie (even a Soviet 12-string guitar and a trumpet can be heard on earlier records) to experimental tracks with a touch of ambient and retrowave, while keeping the overall melancholic, yet comforting mood of post-punk.
