TOYGIRL are a 5-piece alternative band based in Dublin, Ireland. Lead by British/French vocalist Hannah Worrall and accompanied by four Cork natives, Aran Hopkinson, Ciaran Whelband, Fiachra O'Mahony and Cian O'Leary Hegarty, the group blend their wildly varying musical interests and personalities in pursuit of creating a truly unique sound.
Described by Hot Press as a "pigeon-hole busting bilingual quintet...'Reign' - is a slinky, soulful number with roots in cerebral 80s pop".
Though the group have only three commercial releases to date, the band have already established themselves in the Irish live scene. Being described by REMY Music as having “been blown away by TOYGIRL, their set was outstanding, perfectly arced and teasing builds leading to spine-tingling crescendos. Main vocals were highly impressive, ranging from sombre laments to soaring euphoria”.
The group sold out their debut Irish & UK headline tour, with shows in West Cork, Cork, Galway, Belfast & Dublin in Oct 2019.
The band sold out their MCD debut headline show on March 6th, 2020 in the Sound House Dublin to coincide with the release of their sophomore single 'Moonlight Velvet'.
"Moonlight Velvet is a nuanced song that floats along a bright guitar line and gentle percussion" - Nialler9
'Poison' claimed track of the week by Rte2fm's Tara Stewart.
"Coupled with singer Hannah Worrall's soaring vocals.. [Poison] .. features bubbling drum patterns, sparkling synths & dark guitar riffs." - NOTION
