Ashhar Farooqui, aka Toymob, is a vocalist, producer, and songwriter from New Delhi, now based partly in Uttarakhand. Starting out as frontman of cult electro-rock band Envision, his journey has spanned genre and form—blending analog grit, poetic lyrics, and glitchy electronics. As Toymob, he’s released experimental works like Ziggurat, KHOR, and Upaya, fusing field recordings, broken beats, and manipulated vocals into immersive sonic stories.
Ashhar co-founded the quirky, hip-hop-inspired IJA, and teamed up with Audio Pervert in the electro duo Teddy Boy Kill. He’s also written and sung on major tracks with Donn Bhat, including <a href="spotify:track:5kCfav69SHAhwBMXcysl9b" data-name="Stars Align (feat. Under his Hindi/Urdu moniker Bilkul, Ashhar dives into political satire and streetwise poetry, connecting his electronic roots to the voice of the everyday. Across every alias, his music is raw, textured, and deeply rooted in emotion, protest, and experimentation. Always evolving, always honest—Ashhar Farooqui’s work invites you to listen close and get lost in the layers.
