Transcendence

Transcendence is an alternative/hard rock/metal band that is known for its diverse sound. The band members use their wide range of influences to create a collection of songs that aims to resist definition from moment to moment and be unrestricted by genre. This unique blend leaves them with an inimitable sonic impact. All within a few miles of Pittsburgh, PA, the members of Transcendence (Darrin Johns – Vocals, Jeff Stouffer – Guitar, Andy Oddo – Guitar, Evan Leet – Bass, Tony Slaughter – Drums) have all come from something "less" and yearn for something "more". Through hardships and turmoil, they eventually crossed paths and decided to align their efforts, using adversity as a tool to push themselves forward in the hope that they can inspire others to do the same. The band has seen success and accomplishment – having shared the stage with a diverse list of notable acts such as Soil, Saving Abel, Failure Anthem, Jefferson Starship, Blessed Union of Souls, John 5, Attila, Hed PE, Soul Fly, Byzantine, Three Years Hollow, Act of Defiance, among others. They have forged their live performance with passion, as crowds are often moved by the chemistry that shines forth through the cohesive energy that the band shares on stage. "We don't want to chain ourselves down to one genre", says Darrin Johns (Lead Vocalist). "Music is infinite, and we want to convey that."
