The Road To Travel Light:
It all started with a dream. But really, it started in the basement. We began writing our songs before we really knew that we would become a band. A group of three siblings. Mireille Glaves, Francois Genier & Mathieux Genier. We have always been a musical family. Mireille started to singing and learning the acoustic guitar at the young age of 9. Francois learned to play the guitar by himself at 17. And Mathieux started learning the drums at 12 years old. We all loved music, but didn’t dream that we would make our own one day.
After moving to Windsor Ontario in 2009, the dream of Travel Light began. But it didn’t move forward until most of us had finished high school. Flash-forward to mid 2015, with no clue on how to start a band, we started writing our original songs. A year later, in 2016, Benoit Genier, our father, invested in some recording equipment. And with lots of help from our friends, we recorded our early demos in our parent’s basement.
In 2017, we found our producer, Martin Baks, from SLR Studios. He mixed our first EP which we later released in January 2018 as the self titled EP Travel Light. In the same year, we released our second EP that we recorded at SLR Studios called Darkness Slayer, on June 7th.
Still pursuing our goals, we move forward with the aspiration to make great music to bring hope and for the world to enjoy.
