When releasing her debut EP White Bird in 2021, Trine Lyngvig was proclaimed to be the Danish answer to Lana Del Rey. Now the singer and songwriter with her very own dark-warm vocals is ready with the first single from her upcoming second album, which will be out in the spring of 2024. The song is called Young Hearts Blue and is the first insight into an album that revolves around the communities we so insistently both seek and dissolve in a modern digital world.
Trine Lyngvig's pop is organic; edged and lined with velvet. Young Hearts Blue is a chorus-driven pop rock song with soft synth surfaces and underlying beats that tell you that something is simmering under the gentle, mellow. The intensity and melancholy are followed by strong melodic work and a warm, almost caring vocal.
The debut White Bird was very well received and Trine Lyngvig was praised for her distinctive sound, inviting the listener into a Lynch-like soundscape of analogue synths, warm yet simple beatdesign - and with her unique and charismatic vocal style wrapping the songs in velvet.
"Blue Eyes" is a stirring sentimentally sung song and one of the most poignant stories from a Funen musician this year. If not for years. If Trine Lyngvig keeps the same level performing live, she will invade more than Danish shores in the coming years.” (Fyens Stiftstidende).
