Growing up in Queens, he had many influences, encouraged by the successes of other New York City rappers, and the neighborhoodʼs remarkably rich hip- hop legacy. His mentor and step father produced in the 90s “boom bap era”, and was the tour manager for acts like Talib Kweli and Vince Staples.
TriState Gates is currently gearing up for his latest project, “Streets Held Me Back” with appearances and production from familiar underground acts; Benny the Butcher, Eto, Rigz, and many more.
