Hailing from Jamaica Queens NY, TriState Gates, is painting the landscape— allowing for a new-age spin on traditional hip-hop. His bars, riddled with true-to- life street tales, paint a lucid picture of unrepressed reality.
TriState Gates is an artist who adheres to the ideas of lyricism, through metaphors, and figures of speech. Growing up in Queens, he had many influences, encouraged by the successes of other New York City rappers, and the neighborhoodʼs remarkably rich hip- hop legacy. His mentor and step father produced in the 90s “boom bap era”, and was the tour manager for acts like Talib Kweli and Vince Staples.
TriState Gates is currently gearing up for his latest project, “Streets Held Me Back” with appearances and production from familiar underground acts; Benny the Butcher, Eto, Rigz, and many more. From his skill of beat selection to lyrical prowess it is clear that TriState Gates is carving his way into the industry, organically through hard work and talent.
