An amplifier, Tennessee whiskey & the man from Alabama... It’s amazing the impact that someone you cross paths with can have on your journey. This was the case for Bird after meeting with Jason Isbell in 2016. A week later saw Bird penning songs for a new record & what become his 3rd release ‘Yonder Comes The Sun’. Enter drummer Clint Hyndman of Something for Kate. In 2016 the pair would record the foundations of the new album. Next was a call to Muscle Shoals to invite the soulful Jimbo Hart (Jason Isbell & the 400 unit) to record bass on the record. May 2017 not only found Bird in the halls of Fame & Muscle Shoals Sound Studios amongst the hallowed limestone, but also at the Sam Phillips recording service in Memphis. There Bird worked with Matt Ross-Spang to mix the first two singles from the album, ‘Anywhere you wanna go’ & title track’ Yonder Comes The Sun’. September saw Bird back in Nashville, this time by invitation from Sounds Australia to perform a showcase at the legendary Blue Bird Cafe. Here Bird caught the attention of Nashville producer Matt Andrews (Gillian Welch, David Rawlings) whom stepped forward to mix the remainder of the album at the famed Woodland Sound Studios (Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson). 3 extensive Australian tours later, national airplay, a distribution signing to MGM, ‘Yonder Comes The Sun’ is now ready for our ears & was released on MGM Friday 04.05.18 which an extensive tour ahead.
