Trophy Scars stands apart from normal genre conventions but manifests heavy influences from blues, psychedelic rock, post-punk/hardcore, and alternative pop. The band started in northern New Jersey in 2002 and has shed its skin so many times that it is unrecognizable from its humble beginnings. Boasting massive, cacophonous dynamics and expanding textures and layers, Trophy Scars is not built for casual listening, but aimed at dedicated ears wanting an immersive experience. The band has several critically lauded albums and after an extended hiatus, <a href="spotify:album:0bp5CuU4Tc8RbB3bZ4qy8h" data-name="Astral Pariah">Astral Pariah</a> was released in September 2021.
