Led by Southern rap kingpin 2 Chainz, the Atlanta-based label/rap collective T.R.U. emerged in 2020 with a crew of four core rappers freshly signed to the label. Along with label boss 2 Chainz and several featured guests, the collective first flexed their skills on the collaborative compilation album No Face No Case, released in early February of 2020.

Short for "The Real University," T.R.U. was both the name of 2 Chainz's label and the collective banner used for the label's first release. Along with long-time 2 Chainz collaborator Skooly, T.R.U.'s initial membership also included more up-and-coming rappers Worl, Sleepy Rose, and Hott LockedN. All five T.R.U. affiliates had space to showcase their skills on the group's debut compilation album, No Face No Case. The core five were joined on the 15-track project by Bear1Boss, NoCap, NLE Choppa, Quavo, and Quando Rondo. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
