Atlanta native TTG Fred is forging a lane for himself in the South. The rapper, whose name stands for being “Trained to Go” is the CEO and headlining artist of TTG The Label, LLC which has positioned him to create more opportunities for himself as well as upcoming rappers and entertainers. This journey, however has come with its share of sacrifices and uphill battles.
On December 5th, 2018, Fred lost his mother to a battle with cancer. As with many mothers and sons, Fred had a very deep and endearing bond with his mother and will forever praise her for having raised him and four siblings all alone for much of his childhood. When Fred was eight years old, his mother met his stepfather, Kay, who quickly became a father figure to him.
As Fred grew up, he witnessed all of his favorite rappers living what seemed like their best lives and decided that he wanted that lifestyle. He began to take up rapping as a hobby, but it wasn’t until his mother’s cancer diagnosis in 2016 that he decided to take his music seriously. Fred saw this opportunity as more than a way to fund a lavish lifestyle—rapping became a means of providing for his family.
Once Fred began getting his feet wet in the industry, he made connections amongst the elite of the Atlanta rap scene, which is currently steering the advancement of pop culture. From there, Fred diligently worked on his craft and became particularly skilled at illustrating his daily life and articulating his experiences through music.
