Tub Ring

Tub Ring is a band that rewards adventurous listeners as elements of punk, noise, new wave, world, experimental, rock, and pop collide alongside lyrics exploring grand cosmological theories and themes.

Emerging from Chicago’s indie scenes, Tub Ring instantly set themselves apart with a distinctive, frenzied blurring of genres inspired by boundary pushing acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:4Z8W4fKeB5YxbusRsdQVPb" data-name="Radiohead">Radiohead</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7x83XhcMbOTl1UdYsPTuZM" data-name="Tom Waits">Tom Waits</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:30U8fYtiNpeA5KH6H87QUV" data-name="Dead Kennedys">Dead Kennedys</a>.

The band quickly established a reputation as an explosive live act as they voraciously synthesized more styles into their unique sound, releasing a number of EPs in the process. The group caught the attention of <a href="spotify:artist:2zq0uqN9Wq12tqrQQt1ozw" data-name="Mr. Bungle">Mr. Bungle</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3H6yIZ1GLpc1WV51iuyZgp" data-name="Secret Chiefs 3">Secret Chiefs 3</a> member Trey Spruance, who went on to produce their first album, <a href="spotify:album:52soNoUoRW9y2H9OtWdUJN" data-name="Drake Equation">Drake Equation</a>, further honing the careening, hairpin genre swerves that had become their signature.

Touring relentlessly, often with like-minded acts including <a href="spotify:artist:5qRXoCC1CDTMTli9gplUvk" data-name="Foxy Shazam">Foxy Shazam</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5R5MLOQbI4lb7GHYioPqoN" data-name="Mindless Self Indulgence">Mindless Self Indulgence</a>, Tub Ring built a dedicated following not only in the U.S., but also in Japan and throughout Europe and Canada.
