Maleratu is the first single by the Tuerci-core, a project merging the decades old experience of Nidi d'Arac’s world music and Mundial's neo-electronic ethno-experimentation. Maleratu is a hypnotic song, with grooves of Mediterranean percussion, mandolin and violin’s riffs mixed with dark bass lines and synthesizers, which create a trance-like effect. The raging and distorted singer’s voice tells, in a southern Italian dialect, of a tormented mood. The violent sounds and the profanities used in the song are an effective way to express intimate pain, leading the listener to a final state of catharsis at the end of the journey.
