Turnitoff is an independant groove-folk band based in South-West France.
The singer-songwriter, Stephanie, was formed in operatic singing, but found a passion for soul and folk as she started composing, finding inspiration from the greats like Etta James, Lauryn Hill and Aretha Franklin. The drummer, Jonas, is a skilled rythmist, inspired by drummers like Yussef Dayes and Femi Koleoso from Ezra Collective, which reflects his style today. The bassist-double bassist, Paulin, is a multi-skilled jazz and rock musician, currently studying musicology at university and playing in Big Bands in his conservatory. And finally the pianist-electric guitarist, Stephane, is a composer with years of experience in music having partaken in multiple bands before Turnitoff, notably the manouche jazz band "Grain". He brings the groove to the table, being inspired by artists like Kokoroko and Pedro Mizutani.
Together, they bring a unique and eclectic sound that plays with the idea of mixed-genre creation.
Although, Khruangbin, The Strokes and Fleetwood Mac are artists on which the band has found common ground on and are currently composing music that give the same feel.
Be ready for summer 2026, the year that their groovy tunes will be available for all to hear.
