Twilight's Moon is essentially the project of multi-instrumentalist Brian Larsen, whose chief concentration is the piano, but who also plays guitar and drums. Larsen was born in Laurel, MD, where he began taking piano lessons as a child; he quit when the family moved to Georgia, but eventually started up again, and gave his first concert of classical pieces in 1995. The same year, he formed Twilight's Moon with friend Trevor Hunter, as well as two other members who were out of the band by the next year. Hunter quit in mid-1996 to concentrate on running their label, Protocol Records, but continued writing material with Larsen. Larsen recorded a demo titled Tarot in 1996, which served as a test run for the first Twilight's Moon album, 1998's Pi. The follow-up, Classics, was released the following year, as Larsen began composing material at a frantic pace. Slope appeared in 2000, bearing a more classical stamp that came from Larsen's continued piano studies and performances. ClockWork, the fourth Twilight's Moon album in four years, followed in 2001. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
