“In The Sun Also Rises, The Select is where the characters leave their troubles behind,” Austin-born Ty Myers shares of Ernest Hemingway’s iconic novel, his biggest inspiration. “That’s what I want fans to do with my album.” Embodying that spirit, his debut full-length project, The Select (RECORDS Nashville/Columbia), features 16 tracks — 12 solely written by Myers and two co-writes.

“The songwriting is at the front of my mind because that matters most,” says the 17-year-old. “I’m just trying to get my thoughts out.”

Exploring themes of life, love, and responsibility, Myers calls The Select a “culmination of everything.” His depth and approach defy his age, with standout tracks like Billboard-charting “Ends of the Earth,” “Thought It Was Love,” and “Can’t Hold Me Down,” produced alongside Brandon Hood.

Raised on a cattle ranch, Myers found music early, inspired by his dad’s local gigs and his mom’s favorites, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Redding, and George Strait. Homeschooled to hone his craft, he sparked viral buzz with “Tie That Binds” (2023) before his breakout hit, “Drinkin’ Alone.”

Sharing stages with legends like Willie Nelson and Randy Rogers Band, Myers cemented himself as a headliner with his sold-out Let ‘Em Talk Tour. Hailed as an “Artist to Watch” by Billboard and GRAMMY.com, he’s now on his fast-selling, 45-date The Select Tour.
