Math rock brain, indie folk heart. Based in London, Ontario.

An excerpt from my bio by Tom Johnson:
Where that debut EP was a reflection of Tyler’s stripped-back solo live performances – which has seen him support the likes of Intervals, This Wild Life, Joan Of Arc – the new single ‘Window’ finds Tyler more comfortable with letting the song flourish in its recorded form. Working with his producer at The Sugar Shack in Ontario, the pair subtly adorned the track with extra layers of keys and guitar, as well as upright bass performed by a close friend from Tyler’s high school days.
His most complex and confident work to date, ‘Window’ is four minutes of smartly-crafted indie-folk that redefines his work in a gentle flash of colour. Earnestly unpicking the way we can so easily see positives in other people that we don’t see in ourselves, Tyler frames the song within descriptions of working through the night, a nod to how tiresome working on yourself can be. “Humid evening, tired sky / Moon is waking, I turn on my light,” he sings as the song quietly reaches its conclusion; as Tyler’s craft steps into a brighter future.
