Based in the small town of Murray, Kentucky, Tyson VandenBrook is a senior in High School who loves to write unique and thematical music.
“The music I enjoy writing the most is in the style of video game soundtracks or movie scores. Movie and video game scores always blow me away. They have a uniqueness you can’t find in many music genres, and I admire the idea of writing music in this style. Music can paint an environment and a story, and sometimes you get this crazy sensation of feeling connected to that world– like you, yourself, are in that world, exploring and discovering that story. This sensation is what I strive to illustrate.
But the most remarkable thing about this style of music is how someone can look at the same cover art and listen to the same songs in the same order, yet their story is entirely different from the one I intended.
No matter your story or world, I consistently strive for listeners to experience that sensation. I want people to walk away from my music with either a positive outlook on a specific subject (or in general) or with that distinct sensation of being connected to a fantastical world through music.
Currently, I’m still not sure what I want to do when I get out of High School, but I will continue to make music no matter what I end up doing, as writing music is the thing I love most.”
