Formed in a Religion class about divine experiences at Vassar College, Ufology has taken the scenic Hudson Valley by storm through their grungy, alternative style and viciously catchy melodies. They are notorious on campus for being kicked off stage by administrators and licking batteries as a band initiation ritual, a reputation which has only encouraged them to ignite every weekend basement rave with their explosive energy.
Rhythm guitarist Sam Lytel's raspy voice alternates with lead guitarist's Izzy Einstein's ingenious riffs, and Catherine Borthwick's subtle ease on bass paired with James Mannix's tight technical skill on drums seamlessly rounds out the four-piece. "On stage they are smooth and suave, swaying and crooning and hypnotizing the audience—an intimidating presence," writes the Miscellany News. But the band's favorite review has to be: "Were you actually going for 70's Southern Rock Revival?"
