Uma Kaler is a singer-songwriter and actor from Surrey BC, Canada. The 3 singles ‘Why Lie’ , ‘Within These Fields’, and ‘Lost and Found’ are her first releases.
Uma started writing music in high school and continues to write while currently attending college in California.
As an emerging artist, Uma is still developing music style. She describes her songs as ballad-esqe, upbeat and catchy. She writes from a very emotional perspective and those themes are evident in her songs. Uma’s music is influenced by her unique multi-cultural background, and she tries to include that into the music. Although Uma writes to express herself and connect with others, “it doesn’t have to be that deep. I just want people to enjoy the energy (of my songs).”
She is very grateful to Kaj Falch-Nielsen at Blue Light Studio for working with her to make her vision a reality, her voice teacher Heather Rees, Michael Day who introduced her to music composition and production in the first place and her good friend Ashley Boerner who created the cover art for both ‘Why Lie’ and ‘Within These Fields’.
