Puerto Rican artist unÁnima cultivated her passion for music since an early age, expressing her love for sound and rhythm through feeling and dance. After graduating from Brown University, she lived two years in Havana, where the similarities between Cuban music and that of her home Puerto Rico became obvious to her. Her desire to make music of her own became evident then. She began experimenting with Caribbean and Latin American traditional music to give us a sound and story of her own.
unÁnima has complemented her music trajectory with a dedicated series of striking visuals, and experiential live events. She has performed in the prestigious music festival South by Southwest, as well as other renowned festivals in her native country of Puerto Rico.
