“Up is the Down is the” is the Boise, ID based project from multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Andrew Martin. The title is a reflection of the backwards and nonsensical world we live in pulling influence from the 1969 Millie Goldsholl animation, “Up is Down”. The band’s sound hovers between indie rock, jazz and R&B.

Up is the Down is the's new self-titled album, out Jan 23, 2025, follows up 2022's "Pulling the wool" and marks the groups 10 year anniversary. The 10-track album was mixed by Kyler Daron and mastered by Carl Saff. Tracks feature Collin McFadden (drums), Keegan Saunders (tenor sax/flute), Cam Brizzee (bass), and Andrew Martin (guitars/keys/vocals).
