Utmarken was founded in 2015 by vocalist Mathias Gyllengahm and combines classic heavy metal/power metal with Scandinavian folk music harmonies and instruments. Utmarken comes from the northern part of Sweden, Norrland, which has a special place in the lyrical theme and the lyrics are exclusively in Swedish.
After two albums released and a number of shows in Sweden and Norway - 2019 was a successful year for the band, with viral singles, festival gigs, not to mention opening for Raubtier on a sold out tour through Sweden. The third album "Svåra år" emerged as the band's most focused, confident, and successful release and is the most streamed album to date.
