Norwegian singer-songwriter Uzia blends R&B, club-inspired pop, and heartfelt lyricism to create a sound that is both unique and captivating. With roots from Congo and born in Tanzania, Uzia grew up in Drammen, Norway, where her musical journey began in church at an early age. Her powerful voice and emotive songwriting have positioned her as one of the most promising talents in Scandinavian pop.
Uzia first caught the public’s attention at 14, performing on Norwegian national television. In 2020, she gained international recognition when Bebe Rexha discovered her cover of “I’m A Mess.” Rexha praised her talent in Glamour Magazine, saying, “Like, wow, you got talent, girl. Don’t you give up.” In 2022, she was crowned Månedens Urørt by NRK P3 with her single “What I Like,” which earned extensive national airplay.
As one of the few Norwegian pop artists with roots from Congo, Uzia is committed to representation in music: "There aren’t many pop artists in Norway who look like me. I want young people to see themselves represented and know there is space for all of us.”
