Sanjeev Venkataramanan is a distinguished disciple of the eminent violin maestro Sangita Kalanidhi Kum. A. Kanyakumari and has been a performing artist since 1994. His debut marked the beginning of an illustrious journey in Carnatic music, characterized by exceptional artistry and technical mastery. Renowned for his innovative approach, Sanjeev’s violin performances reflect his profound belief in the instrument’s ability to capture the essence of a raga. His relentless pursuit of excellence is evident in his sound production, gamaka and bhava. With a global footprint, Sanjeev continues to be celebrated as one of the most respected and innovative violinists of his generation, admired for his contributions to Carnatic music and his commitment to artistic excellence.

Since 2015, Sanjeev expanded his musical horizons by delving into Western classical orchestration. He envisioned a grander presentation of ragas through full orchestration. His pioneering approach combines Western orchestral textures with raga elements, forging a new genre that transcends traditional fusion. As a composer, he has crafted numerous raga-based orchestral compositions, meticulously scoring and arranging each piece. One of his primary artistic missions is to establish an instrumental repertoire for Carnatic music, a dimension he believes is currently underrepresented.
