V3GARD, is an EDM project of Vegard Rafteseth, an enthusiast of electronic, dance, trance, uplifting moods, melodic strolls, nostalgia, and anything that makes the heart pump and head bump!
Grew up with learning music through the demoscene and modules/tracking from 1997 onwards with Fast Tracker 2, then later ModPlug Tracker, before moving to Renoise - which is the DAW used till this day. Different projects over the years before starting to focus on heavier EDM in 2021 under the V3GARD name!
He is a big fan of electronic music in general, and leaning more into instrumental music than vocal. Creating interesting and catchy music without vocals is more impressive to him. Inspired by anything that is catchy, be it a melody, part of a hook, a bassline, or even just some percussions, or a brilliant reverb on a snare -- anything that can possibly grab attention.
V3GARD tries to hit a nostalgic nerve, 90's and 00's has a central inspirational place in his work and mindset.
Artists who definitely have inspired and motivated through the years:
Tiësto (pre-2015 mostly), Ferry Corsten (+Gouryella), Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, Röyksopp, Infected Mushroom, Pendulum, Jonas Steur, Chicane, Calvin Harris, Rank1, Moonbeam, Todd Terje, Martin Garrix, Mauro Picotto, .. among several other brilliant artists.
