$vai Rex

After witnessing his father's stabbing in Nørrebro, Copenhagen in the late 80's, the boy that was soon to become $vai-Rex emigrated with his mother to their neighbouring country in the North, escaping the violence of the Danish underworld.

As a teenager in Bergen, Norway $vai-Rex gained notoriety for both his ambigious accent and his affinity for selling cocaine, adopting a Lucha Libre-mask to conceal his identity. After a brief stint in prison, the aspiring pusher turned his witts to the mic, and soon became one of Norway's pioneers within the trap-genre.

After working with acts like <a href="spotify:artist:49Y76LzQxs1b6MUe6p4pHt" data-name="Hester V75">Hester V75</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0elSJZFrHnayc7AUCkbWAl" data-name="Pasha">Pasha</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0t6zVVBNwDHteRR5zwb8k0" data-name="Yoguttene">Yoguttene</a>, $vai Rex was able to score a minor club hit with the song <a href="spotify:track:73DVBP7oUmqm5YDrA4N50d" data-name="Patrik $vaisi">Patrik $vaisi</a> (produced by the famed Norwegian producers Basmo Fam), even gaining international radioplay - while trap music in Norway was still confined to the underground.

Then he suddenly vanished, only to be seen in occasional TV-interviews.

After a three year hiatus $vai-Rex released the single MIKE $TODDER FREE$TYLE in collaboration with producer-extraordinaire Dollar Nill$. An EP is scheduled for release in 2020.
