Valor started as a joke after longtime bedroom guitarist and co-vocalist Isaiah Highley suggested to his 3 newest friends that they “start a band.” Originally, the lineup saw frontman and lead singer Andre Jones on the drum kit, and the ever so passionate drummer Carson Potter behind the microphone. This was short lived however, as the two quickly swapped positions and became deeply invested in their respective roles.
The 4-piece initially played cover songs at their local church events after only a few months of practicing together (and for both drummer Carson Potter and bassist Benji Freels, only a few months after picking up their instruments). Within a year, the quartet had gone from friends to brothers and had written and recorded their first album Project Red.
Now, the band still continues to play live locally and does so with a true love for their music, but most importantly with a genuine love of their brotherhood their band has become.
