Founded in 2017 by guitarist, vocalist, and producer Tim Johnson, Valor was born out of a passion for progressive metal and the drive to create music that pushes boundaries while staying deeply personal. What began as Tim’s solo vision soon grew into something bigger — a band built on intensity, technicality, and raw emotion.
After relocating to Nashville in 2022, Tim crossed paths with Gavin Culwell in 2023, whose unrelenting screams and commanding presence brought a new fire to the project. The lineup solidified further in 2025 with the addition of drummer Curtis Moss, whose precision and power elevated Valor’s sound into something undeniable.
With roots in modern progressive metal yet unafraid to experiment, Valor blends crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and intricate rhythms into a sound that resonates both sonically and emotionally. Every track is crafted to challenge the genre while connecting with listeners on a visceral level.
