Van Der Blaise is the project of Bassist, Lyricist, Vocalist, and Composer Mark E Tyson. The band’s music is created all by Mark E Tyson. He plays bass guitar, keyboards, and synths on every track and he plays guitar on the majority of them, although his guitar skills are limited so he uses computer enhancements to help when his guitar friends are not available. Most of his songs are done utilizing real instruments as well as computerized tools and software including a DAW (Digital Work Station)
He has been creating his songs for years but had no intention of releasing any of them. (Until Recently) He says he created them all for himself and his family. His reasoning is that he has no interest in becoming a touring band or artist promoting music on the road. He enjoys singing and playing music in a studio setting but hates performing in front of people if he can avoid it.
After he released several tribute songs to his favorite band “The Warning” and got such positive feedback on his YouTube channel because of the tribute songs, he finally decided to begin organizing his songs into albums and distributing them.
Van Der Blaise fluctuates between alternative, pop, electronic, and metal. He writes and performs what he feels like performing so there are a variety of styles infused within his work. His archive of completed or nearly completed songs is extensive, well over 150 songs written and recorded over the past 10 years. He has enough material for many albums to come!
