VandaLIES formed in February of 2020, and played their first show 2 weeks after that. This "Indie Funk Metal" group consists of Trevor Jones (Drums) Ethan Izu (Guitar) Viktorija Lakštutė (Vocals) and Devin Van Noy (Bass)
Immediately they were a crowd favorite. The next 4 weeks consisted of 5 shows being played in venues all over Mesa and Gilbert before COVID-19 hit.
Trevor (Drums) and Ethan (Guitar) actually started jamming and writing music in May of 2019, and immediately clicked. The combination of heavy headbanger riffs, funky licks and heavy drums led to a sound that is very unique. In February of 2020, the long search for a lead singer had ended when they encountered "Vika" (Vocals) She is a native Lithuanian and talented singer, songwriter, and pianist. After convincing her to try her hand at hard rock and metal, she brought a whole new element (and music theory knowledge) to their sound. Her clean, beautiful voice cut through the heavy riffs and intricate drums.
The band first wrote and completed "Uh Oh" and discovered their sound.
In June of 2020, VandaLIES added Devin Van Noy (bass) to their lineup. His skillful picking and slapping brought the final element that VandaLIES needed. DIRTY NASTY GIRTHY BASSLINES demonstrated in the band's single "Uh Oh"
June of 2020, the band went to The Rise to record their first 2 singles. "Uh Oh" and "Blue" were produced by Nate Therialt of <a href="spotify:artist:6vvJl7yVjcSG3pHB4B9uOa" data-name="Skies Like Rockets">Skies Like Rockets</a>
