We are VCR, (and no, despite popular opinion, it does not stand for Video Cassette Recorder!) a 4 piece originals indie-rock band based in Portsmouth in the UK. The band consists of members: Josh Sanderson, Sam Lewis, Logan Adshead and Lewis Swainbank. Each of us have our own different musical influences, which together creates the VCR sound.


The band formed in January 2019 with help from a local charity The Urban Vocal Group (UVG) and one of it’s Directors Charlie Fletcher as part of the artists development program where Sam and Josh first met. This was where the seed of VCR was planted. Lewis and Gwen (former member) were approached by Sam to join the band and in less than 24 hours and a brief pub meeting, VCR was formed.


Our debut single Midnight Dreams was recorded at The Old Blacksmith Studios in Portsmouth, released September 2019 followed by All I Want Is Us recorded at Mayfield Studios in Portsmouth, released May 2020. Having won the Youth Music Award, we have had our song Circles re-mixed at Metropolis Studios along with a music video shoot, all to be released by Virgin/EMI in the near future.
