Velvet Cape

Reclusive & dreary, Florida based vocalist Velvet Cape combines an essence of dark R&B with elements of experimental rock, and alternative pop. Mysterious in his approach, the methodical, and almost haunting delivery imprints itself in the ears of listeners, leaving touching impressions with his honest, yet simple lyrics. His first commercial single "Burn Out" combines the aforementioned elements, giving a glimpse into what can only be described as a "bleeding heart". Liken too many vocalist of similar styling, such as James Blake, Corbin, and Joji, Velvet Cape expresses his experiences in a manner that is not overbearingly vulgar, but not insultingly obtuse. The occasional juvenile view of love, lust, passion, and betrayal is as human as the spirit can be, but does not pander to a societal view on such subjects. Despite this push towards self expression, and the vulnerability that accompanies it, the singer is reluctant to be viewed publicly, hiding his appearance behind shawls and fabric-hence the moniker "Velvet Cape".
