After the spatial and musical epic "Star Dawn », Velvet Stairs comes back with "Last Anthem".
A new album that is listened to as snapshots taken from the window of a train where the tracks lead us through the turbulence of life. Similarly, the auditor follows the parade of his own mental images and each piece, as a step on the roadmap existence, seek to resonate in him.
These value-added film pieces are run through as sequences.
While "Crown", lyrical hymn almost adolescent, transports us, "Last Call" takes us far more melancholy shores.
The sound of this album refers to films and series of the 80s, where vintage sounds mingle with powerful and contemporary rhythms. "Last Anthem" could be the soundtrack of "Thunder Day" or "Top Gun" where Tom Cruise would lead a Delorean or a drone!
Velvet Stairs, is the solo project of J. C. Villain.
His music is highly cinematographic and purely instrumental, recalling the atmosphere of Brian Eno, Mogwaï and the album Leaf.
Concerned in bringing a full coherence to this project, J. C. Villain (graphic designer and director) has also taken care of the artistic direction of the clip and the album's entire visual universe.
