Veronica Beth Torres was born in the Bronx, NY. At age 9 her family moved to her father’s native town in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Veronica discovered her passion for singing at age 11 and began vocal training at age 13. She met Italian born Boston native Angelo Petrucci in a Boston, MA nightclub while she was singing and attending Berklee College of Music. They soon became a duo, however, turned down several pop urban record deals to pursue serving the Lord. She married Angelo in 1992. Their first album, Higher Place was also released in ’92 in which they first collaborated with Fred Hammond. They won several Dove awards including the controversial Contemporary Black Gospel Song of the Year for their song, “God Knows”. Veronica Petrucci has recorded 3 solo albums including a Spanish language album called Atrévete a Soñar which was recorded in Puerto Rico. This album includes a song she wrote called “Dare to Dream” which was selected for the Special Olympics. Her solo album, Made It Out Alive, includes songs, “No Fear" and "Expecting Great Things" featuring John P Kee. The album and her book, How I Made it Out Alive, is her personal testimony of overcoming fear and depression. She has received an honorary doctorate in sacred music and teaches an online vocal class called Master Your Voice. Now married 28 years, she continues to sing and write music that is soulful, timeless and relevant.
