Vertigo is a Czech-Slovak multi-genre band that has, over its twenty years of existence, achieved a cult status on the Czech jazz scene with an unmistakable sound. Holder of three Czech Music Academy Awards for the best jazz album, Vertigo have established themselves as those who never cease to surprise and who keep coming up with new forms, contents, and sound with each new recording. The band’s individual members are all renowned musicians whose solo projects have met with high acclaim (Dorota Barová, Marcel Bárta, Vojtěch Procházka, Oskar Török, Rastislav Uhrík, Daniel Šoltis) and who are members of many other excellent formations (Tara Fuki, Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, Freetown Quartet, Muff, Martin Brunner Band, Čikori, and others). Their diverse musical experience has been merged in an original whole comprising elements of modern and experimental jazz, electronic music, acoustic alternative approaches, and song repertoire, all with a great deal of musical humour and wit. To celebrate their twenty years together in 2022 the band releases a new album "Nic" (Nothing) and is setting off for a European tour.
