VICE VERA

VICE VERA is the solo project of Manchester artist Tamsin Middleton. An exciting and captivating performer with over 15 years’ experience, she has played with multiple bands and contributed to many recording projects with voice, guitar and bass. Live bands include LIINES, ILL, Mr Heart, JD Meatyard, Calvin Party and Carousel Clouds. Career highlights include touring support for Pixies, Red Hot Chili Peppers & Sleaford Mods; BBC6 Marc Riley Live Session; performing at Glastonbury Festival; and studio vocals for The Fall.

By 2020, Tamsin had left both ILL and LIIINES, despite their relative success, in order to focus entirely on her new solo project VICE VERA. With full creative freedom, her writing became more personal and vulnerable, integrating spoken word for the first time. Using voice, electric guitar, effects and loop pedals, VICE VERA layers sound, texture & harmony, delivering a confrontational and intense live set.

Recently awarded the DYCP grant from Arts Council England, VICE VERA is currently exploring sound-responsive projection and lighting for live performance, and focusing on writing new material.
