Vidjay Rangaya

Né d’un heureux métissage des cultures indienne et québécoise, Vidjay a grandi dans un milieu où l’art a toujours été partie intégrante du quotidien. Musicien depuis son jeune âge, l’Estrien désormais basé à Montréal façonne sa technique à la basse jazz pop au Cégep de Sherbrooke. Après avoir collaboré sur divers projets musicaux et prêté son groove dans des spectacles partout dans le monde, la démarche de Vidjay Rangaya, auteur-compositeur-interprète, se précise. Il lance un premier EP éponyme à l’été 2018, résultat de nuits blanches exploratoires, sans se douter de l’accueil enthousiaste qui l’attendrait.

Born from a happy blend of Indian and Quebec cultures, Vidjay grew up in an environment where art has always been an integral part of the everyday life. Musician since his youth, the artist who grew up in the Eastern Townships and now based in Montreal studied Jazz Pop bass guitar at Cégep de Sherbrooke. After collaborating on various musical projects and lent his groove in shows all over the world, the musical approach of Vidjay Rangaya, songwriter-performer, is clarified and refined. He launches a first EP in the summer of 2018, the result of exploratory sleepless nights, without suspecting the enthusiastic reception that would await him.
