Vineland Trio I: Origins releases November 7th.
Born out of a need for unique, improvised music in Michigan's UP, Vineland Trio was created with one goal: walk into the studio and record music. Planning went to the wayside to ensure an authentic time capsule was created at each recording session.
"Vineland Trio I: Origins is our first collection of songs from recording sessions that took place throughout December 2024 and January 2025. As I got more involved into jazz and progressive music, my favorite aspect of it was how aspects of the music were improvised. In jazz, solos are improvised over chord changes. The same was sometimes true for progressive rock as well.
Volume I consists of some of my favorite work I've ever done. On 'Persona' and 'Supremacy,' you can hear my use of the Boss GM-800 pedal, while the other tracks have their own distinct feel with a distorted guitar sound. These songs are often long, wind up in weird places and do not feel rehearsed or cohesive, and that's okay. It's my hope that you'll take the music for what it is, just like I have."
