Edmonton’s VISSIA is carving out her niche as a fearless force in pop. Her sophomore album, With Pleasure, hailed as a triumph of pop songwriting, hit No. 7 on CKUA’s 2021 Top 100 and earned high-profile appearances at c/o Pop in Cologne and the UK’s Great Escape Festival. Blending R&B, soul, pop, and subtle folk roots, VISSIA transforms everyday moments into musical gold.

In 2024, she co-produced, wrote, edited and released Live, With Pleasure, a concert documentary capturing live performances from her sold-out cross-Canada tour with USS. That same year, her music video “Doorway” earned a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Director of the Year (Peter Kominek).

Expanding into theatre, VISSIA composed the music and lyrics for Rapunzel, a children’s musical commissioned by Alberta Musical Theatre Company for their 2024/2025 touring season. The production reached more than 200 schools and 60,000 students across Alberta and earned her two 2025 Sterling Award nominations: Outstanding Score of a Play or Musical and Outstanding Artistic Achievement, Theatre for Young Audiences.

With a new album on the way, VISSIA enters her next era—a bold evolution defined by deep feeling, embodied movement, and cinematic vision.
